Work Hard Play Hard                           Generations of women

As I have moved through life I have found that it is family, in its broadest and most intimate terms, that bind us together.  Even as styles and technologies change, the things we choose to remember, generation to generation, do not.  Universally through time and place we are capturing the same moments that bring us joy and familiarity.

By using the translucent and saturated colors of glass as my medium, I explore the human experience in my work.  My background in quiliting influences my interest in pattern which expands my palette of color.  The pose and movement of the figures define the initial moment.  However, once that is done, I focus on "coloring" the piece.  At that point the figures give way to the lively evolution of the colors and patterns that create their individuality.

The infinite fabric of color and pattern match our infinite uniqueness as individuals yet the stories that I tell interpet our common need for nostalgia, comfort and halcyon days.
